Overcoming decision fatigue

It’s no secret decisions carry power. From the moment we open our eyes in the morning until we rest for the night, our day fills with micro to macro decisions, and the fullness of our minds will test our ability to choose wisely. Many factors play into this. From being misaligned with our work-to-life flow, the influences that drive decision fatigue are many.

What often makes decisions challenging are usually one or all of the following:

  • The opinions and pressures of others

  • The lack of knowing what we truly want

  • The indulgence of procrastination

The two actions that tend to dissolve this challenge:

  • Being courageous and dedicated to what we value. It takes courage to listen to the opinion of others yet hold steady in what is true for ourselves. The next time you gather too much external advice, go within, find your inner stillness, and allow the best choice to come forward. Your heart will know, and your mind will find peace.

  • Leveraging your resistance to make a decision is a catalyst for healing. Resistance is a powerful communicator and motivator. When you choose and simultaneously feel tension within, ask yourself, “What is the real problem with making this choice?” Be honest with yourself. Be willing to correct the situation, heal what’s in the way, and embrace the ability to be empowered.

For both actions above to be effective, courage is required.

Being courageous with decisions over time will transform the mind, body, and soul into a powerhouse trifecta that welcomes choice for the long term.

This week, be fearless and enter your secret world of courage. Investigate what cultivates an intense center within and embrace it.

Of course, to assist, I have included a meditation to get you on track and focused, building courage and stepping out of decision fatigue.

In addition, I have curated an upcoming event that will take you into the sacred world of courage. Details are coming very soon!

Until then, Happy Mother’s Day, take deep breaths, enjoy time in nature, engage in long walks, do something that stirs your heart, and remember…you are built for the calling and designed for the experience!

To you,

Heather
