My husband and I take the first two weeks of September to go on a trip every year. The location isn’t as important as our precious time with each other.

During our vacation, we commit to having little to no screen time, lots of exercise and time outside together, and time to check in and have conversations that support our path forward. Some conversations are joyful, and others are strategic with a dash of seriousness.

During these last few weeks of minimal time online, which is why you haven’t heard from me for a few weeks, I began to pay close attention to how I lead in all my relationships, my life, and how I lead in the world.

So you guessed it, this week’s question to ponder, journal, and strategize around is: How do you lead?

If we don’t contemplate the tough stuff and get honest about our path and what we’re experiencing, it’s possible to become passive and lose touch with the power and passion we carry within.

In being transparent, I’m sharing with you a few tough questions I asked myself and what I call the Bold Arrival Moments that offered moving insight and clear direction on what to do next. If you wish, ask yourself these questions and see what surfaces for you.

So, here we go!

Where do I people please in business and in my personal life?
Because honestly, when that happens, confidence suffers.
Where do I constantly feel like I’m justifying myself?
Because when we get into justifying our actions, our stamina suffers.
Where am I more talk than action?
Because when that happens, trust is lost.
Is my self-worth tangled up with how much money I have?
Because money doesn’t care about self-worth, it cares about clarity, focus, and quick movement.

On the flip side:

Where do I shine and lead fearlessly?
Because when I do this, clarity is fortified.
What do I follow through to completion?
Because this reveals my commitment.
Where is my discernment laser sharp, and success follows?
Because success loves the recipe of strategy and soul.
Where does my heart pound with passion?
Because this will give me longevity with an open heart.

The truth is it’s time to lead in all areas of our lives and to step forward into our best and highest self. When one is aligned here, effortlessness, flow, and understanding become natural, and your mind doesn’t fight the reality you want to create.

We can’t run away from ourselves and avoid the bumps in the road, yet we can shift perspective of ourselves with compassion and be willing to step into the most potent version of our leadership in our current step of life.

Be well this upcoming week. Honor yourself – your leadership. I hope the questions above offer guidance and support as this is an invitation to commit to pulling forward the highest expression of your capacity to lead because, from my experience, everyone wins when we do this.

Here’s to leading through life and stretching up!

To you and your beloved communities,

Heather
